You can find us at the cultural and physical centre of Stroud, on the corner where the famous Farmers’ Market meets the pedestrianised High Street. If you’re planning to visit the Cotswolds, do drop by and say hello, we’d love to see you.

Stroud Bookshop has long been a place to browse, meet up and hang about for a chat; a festival-like vibe that we love.

This energy still exists in town, where the pedestrianised street offers plenty of space for outdoor cafes and social gatherings (at a distance). Sadly, the shop can’t be quite as bustling at the moment, but we are still here with a warm welcome and a rich selection of books for adults and children. Our range of cards - the best in Stroud! - continues to grow too.

Covid-19 Guidelines and Safety

We have now reopened (again!) for browsing! We’re thrilled to be able to welcome you back in person.

We’re restricting customer numbers in the shop to four, and are encouraging everyone to continue to wear a face covering and to use hand sanitiser for browsing.

At Stroud Bookshop we take seriously our mission to extend reading to our youngest citizens and through generous local donations have, for the past three years, been able to provide £10 Book Vouchers to all reception class children at the town’s ten primary schools.
